The Rom built in 1978 to the designs of Adrian Rolt/G-force, and as of 11th Sep 2014 is now a Grade II listed site. It was agreed to be the best, and most completely preserved, of a small number of purpose-built skateparks to survive from the early years of British skateboarding.

Throughout the years Rom has seen the good and the great from skateboarding and BMX visit – we need your help in growing out this timeline to incorporate all the events and happenings that you remember.

Whether it was the ill fated Bones Brigade visit or the infamous BMX tyre jump competition (who started this?)  – please let us know what matters to you and we’ll add it in – any footage or photos are more than welcome too.  – send anything to us via our Facebook page on

**We need your help in growing this timeline out as it will form an important part of the exhibition in 2019.**
